Not every piece is going to be knocking it out the park from a numbers’ perspective.
I know that and numbers alone is not what it is all about.
One thing is for sure, you cannot be all things to all people.
As I progress on this writing and business journey, I keep having to check myself when the vanity metric monster rears its ugly head.
Depending on my mood it is quite easy to get disheartened when I see very little engagement on Twitter or LinkedIn and <10 visits on GA.
It doesn’t matter!
My goals for these posts are nothing to do with virality.
I want to create something interesting and engaging. My minimum goal is to add a bit of value or inspiration to at least one person.
Next time you start to worry about the numbers, pause and think about your reasons for doing what you are doing.
Presumably your goals are not higher numbers of likes. That’s just a by-product of the process.
Focus on the process, improve and iterate and you will get to where you want to be.
