031 | Sunday night is planning night 🍷

I’ve mentioned in this blog before that I am prone to a bit of procrastination.

Procrastination is a productivity killer! But, it’s an easy trap to fall in to with so many distractions around.

Ironically, everything changed when I was procrastinating listening to a podcast from the Creative Rebels.

David and Adam were interviewing Nir Eyal. I’ve been a follower of Nir for a while and he was discussing his latest book, Indistractable.

Nir is a very interesting guy!

During the podcast, they talk a lot about why to-do lists are toxic and not a good way to go about things.

Managing your time is a much better alternative and conquers boredom.

Boredom contributes a lot to procrastination.

This is a tough post to write because I want to add value to you reader, but I also don’t want to butcher or rip off, the work of those mentioned above.

All I’ll say is this, if you struggle with focus or productivity, give it a listen.

When the podcast finished I immediately went on Amazon, bought the book and treated myself to a Moleskine weekly planner and put them to work.

I’m still prone to the odd YouTube binge but it’s managed now and my productivity levels have never been higher.

My Sunday nights have also not looked the same since that day. My goals and plans for the week are realistically mapped out every Sunday evening with a nice glass of red.

It makes things a lot easier having a rough outline of the week ahead and what you want to achieve.
