AI is the biggest opportunity we'll ever see. Most people are going to miss it.
We're living through the biggest opportunity most of us will ever see.
And a lot of people are about to miss it.
A year ago, if you had an idea, you needed a developer, a budget, or six months you didn't have.
Now you open Claude and start typing.
I'm not a developer. I've never written a line of code in my life.
But I am an ideas person.
However, executing those ideas has always been tough because I lacked the skills to do so.
So ultimately I didn't, and they just sat there gathering dust on my to-do list.
It may have been an excuse, it may not, but either way I no longer have any excuse, and I love it.
This year I've built many tools and products, and I did it in evenings and weekends.
The barrier that used to stop people like me has basically disappeared.
And that's the opportunity.
Everyone reading this has it, right now, today.
Whatever your age, whatever your financial situation.
Here's the thing though. Most people won't use it.
Not because they can't.
Because of fear, because of laziness, because it's easier to virtue signal about "real" work than to sit down and actually make something, because ambition is in shorter supply than talent ever was, because AI is the enemy and will take all our jobs.
(I don't think it will, by the way, but that's a different blog post.)
I watch people scroll past this stuff every day. Same excuses on repeat.
So we're splitting into two camps, whether we admit it or not.
One camp is building and using. Shipping things, learning by doing, getting a bit further every week.
The other camp is watching, waiting for permission, complaining, or telling themselves it doesn't impact them.
I know which camp I'd rather be in.
The tools are sitting there for anyone willing to pick them up.
The only real question left is: which camp are you going to choose?
And are you going to look back on this period in a few years' time and be happy with that decision?
